Who we are

Agora ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Corentin Cheminot. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Agora iOS application.

What we collect

Agora is designed around anonymity. We collect as little as possible:

• Device identifier: A random UUID generated on your device and stored in your iOS Keychain. This is not linked to your Apple ID, phone number, or any personal information.
• Username: An optional display name you choose during onboarding. Letters only, no real name required.
• Conversations: The text of your exchanges with the AI, including your answers and the AI's responses.
• Implicit signals: Answer length and time-to-answer, used to improve conversation quality.
• Preferences: Your sensitivity tier, notification windows, and excluded topic families.

We do not collect your email address, real name, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal data through the app.

How we use your data

• Conversations: Your exchanges help the AI understand your perspective and ask better follow-up questions. They are processed by OpenAI's API to generate responses.
• Synthesis: When you choose to share a conversation to the Inner Agora, your answers are synthesized with others' into collective insights. The synthesis is an aggregate understanding — it does not quote or identify individual contributors.
• Moderation: Shared content is screened by OpenAI's Moderation API before entering the synthesis pool.

What we share

Your raw conversations are never sold to anyone. Synthesized insights — aggregate understanding drawn from many conversations — may be shared with research partners. These insights do not contain your individual words or identity.

Voice input

Agora uses your device's microphone only when you choose to answer a question by voice. Voice input is transcribed using Apple's Speech Recognition. Apple's privacy policy applies to the audio. The resulting transcribed text is then handled the same way as typed input described above.

Third-party services

• OpenAI: Processes conversation text to generate AI responses and moderation checks. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Railway: Hosts our backend infrastructure. Subject to Railway's Privacy Policy.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is stored for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated conversations at any time via Settings. Upon deletion:

• Your device identifier, username, preferences, and all conversation threads are permanently removed.
• Synthesized insights your conversations contributed to may remain, as they no longer contain your individual words.

Shared contributions and permanence

Shared contributions to the Inner Agora are anonymized at the moment of sharing and become permanent. Deleting your account will erase your private conversations and account data, but not your shared voice. If a shared contribution identifies you or violates our policies, you may request removal by contacting hello@inner-agora.com.

Children

Agora is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used Agora, please contact us.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your device identifier is stored in the iOS Keychain. Our database is hosted on Railway with encrypted connections. We use rate limiting and content moderation to protect the platform.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
